This week we sailed on the renovated Queen Mary II, we discover the discreet charm of the Médoc at the Château Cordeillan-Bages, one falls for a friendly rally between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic and we party in Marseille at the R2.   • Marseille: the R2, party temple

    Perched between sea and sky, above the harbor terraces, the R2 is both a hype restaurant : the Refectoire and a fabulous rooftop. At the Refectoire, the name of the restaurant, the decor displays an industrial heartfelt look: polished concrete, copper countertops, vintage furniture … and the menu includes seasonal and local products; well done: tapas with regional flavors. As for the rooftop, it extends over 1250 m2 offering a 360 ° view over the city and the Mediterranean. We can brunch there, enjoy cocktails and tapas, dance by the Mediterranean. The right plan? playing foosball, pinball or various gaming that Laurent de Gourcuff, head of the Refectoire has put everywhere, not to mention the bowling set on a terrace extending thorugh the restaurant.   • Médoc Château Cordeillan-Bages is renovating rooms 7

    On the Castle Road, near Bordeaux and leaning against the Château Lynch-Bages, Pauillac grand cru, this confidential chartreuse from the seventeenth century just renovated 7 rooms of 32 m 2. Articulated around the garden, on the 1st floor, their decoration provides a comfortable atmosphere with modern and clean lines, with noble materials: linen, leather, wood, marble stone and blond. In the salons we like contemporary art works by recognized artists – Pierre Alechinsky, Emilio Perez, Gérard Titus-Carmel, TAN Swie Hian or even Antoni Tapies … At the restaurant, the talented and friendly chef Jean-Luc Rocha, Meilleur Ouvrier of France and two stars, sublimes southwestern products and provides the unique dialogue between tasty contemporary cuisine and wines of Bordeaux.   • Queen Mary II : renovations

    The Cunard company, which celebrated its 175 years in 2015, is celebrating 2016 with a major renovation of the Queen Mary 2, its flagship. Designed as a true transatlantic liner, tapered and majestic, it can navigate the seas in all weathers. The new facilities were inaugurated on June 2st1 after a dry docking of 25 days. This major renovation focuses on indoor public spaces, the creation of new places, particularly in catering, and in thirty new cabins, spacious enjoying a wide balcony. Art and culture live together on this ship with the Planetarium, the bookstore and the largest library on the sea. Gastronomy has an important role, with a choice of refined menus and many options for gourmet meetings. In the tradition of great liners of yesteryear, every stateroom categorie is a restaurant overlooking the sea. Since its inception, Cunard has always been at the forefront of innovation : from the launch of a regular transatlantic line between Europe and America to the first light bulbs or bathrooms looking like floating palaces that were Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth.   • Car rally: Entre deux Mers

    It’s time to register for the rally to be held from October 4th to 8th between Saint-Tropez and Biarritz. Concocted by Cyril Neveu, this first edition of a rally between east and west, from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic Ocean, offers 1,200 km to discover beautiful regions. Open to classic cars (cars produced until 1985), this rally is divided into 4 stage and about 300 km a day … Only 40 teams will have the privilege to participate in this event that will take competitors from Provence to the Basque Country through Arles, Andorra, Pau … competitors will taste every evening a well deserved rest in prestigious institutions like the castle of the Messardière in Saint-Tropez, the Jules Cesar in Arles, the hotel du Plais in Biarritz … Last good point: all the logistics: car and luggage transportation, mechanical assistance … are supported by the rally.   • Bogota: a historic hotel Four Seasons

    Built in 1946, it has long been considered the most luxurious hotel in Bogota. Casa Medina is the work of artist and architect Santiago Medina Mejia, born in Medellin and raised in Paris in the early twentieth century. In 1984, Casa Medina becomes architectural heritage and in 1988 the building was restored and converted into a hotel. Came in the lap of the Four Seasons Hotel group in the summer of 2015, Casa Medina Bogota has become the place to be in Bogota.   • Shanghai: Welcome Mickey!

    Sixth Disney resort in the world and first in China, the Shanghai Disney has just opened its doors in the new town of Chuansha, near the Chinese megalopolis. Started in 2011, the pharaonic works just ended. This is one of the largest foreign investment projects in China and the largest investment of Disney outside the United States. It contains everything that made the success of other “worlds” dedicated to Mickey and friends: the enchanted castle, rollercoaster of all kinds, the enchanted world of toys ….   • Tangier: a new Banyan Tree

    Located on the northwest coast of Morocco, in the Bay of Tamouda, the Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay resort, offers spectacular views of the sea and the mountains of the large Rif.   • Corsica Ferries launches six new routes

    The company that is booming is opening from Nice and Toulon crossings to Porto Vecchio and Sardinia on a revamped ship: Mega Andrea, twelfth ship of the Corsica Ferries fleet. 171 meters long and 28 meters wide, this large capacity vessel was completely renovated and can accommodate 2,000 passengers and 550 vehicles.
