  • Nantes: ultra design decoration at the Mercure!

Here is a Mercure hotel that will debunk misconceptions about hotel chains. Featuring a very serious upgrading, this hotel beautifully located next to the train station (it even has a direct entrance from the bar) just offered itself a total makeover. Led by Marcelo Joulia, the architect whose brilliant achievements in the world are legion, the hotel now has a stylish and innovative design. From the lobby, the style is given: the cement tiles share the land with lovely wooden floors. The lounges and restaurant are bodywork of custom-made blond wood libraries like all besides furniture, signed by Cantreau, a manufacturer from Cholet and filled with books and magazines just like at a friend’s house. The 31 rooms have the distinction of having very large bathrooms, treated like real rooms with large walk-in showers. A part of the walls are dressed in modern colors: blue, yellow, ocher and gray agreeing to the 50s furniture. At the brasserie restaurant, we enjoy a delicious locavore cuisine, . A. F.-M

It is wearing red just like the flag and for the occasion, the “Monte Carlo Red 17-1763 » color has been created! To discover Tuscany and its wine treasures, let’s visit Caste Monastero. This original hotel, member of The Leading Hotels of the World is nestled in the heart of the vineyards of Chianti, about twenty kilometers from Siena. In fact it is an ancient village of the eleventh century converted into a luxury resort. We spend our days touring around beautiful equipped caves – From Chianti to Brunello di Montalcino, through the Vernaccia di San Gimignano with wine tasting in Chianti, in the middle of one of the best preserved landscapes of Italy: Crete Senesi. This house has had various owners since the seventeenth century, the Stein family, originally from the Ruhr area, inveterate travelers who acquired this house. Today, Martin Stein is at the helm of this five-star with 26 different rooms and suites, few steps from the Palais des Papes. “La Mirande exudes beauty and elegance of French decorative arts of the eighteenth century.” The new and young chef, he is 28 years old, Florent Pietravalle has already worked among the greatest: in Paris at Joël Robuchon for a year, as sous chef then at Rabanel in Arles, then 4 years as sous chef at Pierre Gagnaire rue Balzac. If every chef says “the product is central to my work, » he puts this claim into practice: three mornings a week, we can meet him between the market stalls of St. Etienne-du-Grès. He treats us with simple and seasonal products: anchovies of the Basque Country, marinated with Espelette pepper, peas and broad beans from the garden, Mediterranean red mullet, Galician beef … to test immediately!
