PARIS RIVE DROITE : un été parisien aux couleurs US à la SUMMER HOUSE
This mansion has a history. It is named after Mona Bismarck, an American philanthropist and fashion icon who donated her home in 1986 with the aim of encouraging Franco-American relations through art and culture. This sublime residence, sheltered from the gaze and the frenzy of the city, is transformed until the end of September into “Summer House” to welcome the Parisians and offer them a highly creative program that honors the American pop culture. On the program, more than fifty electro-acoustic and electronic live concerts, sound performances and Dj sets will highlight this summer house. To the sound of jazz, blues, funk, hip hop, nu soul , r’n’b through alternative rock without forgetting electro, new wave and folk, we will be able To wiggle like never before! The good news? A majority of concerts and evenings will be free to enter.
Plenty of music but not only! Arts in all their diversity will be present in this summer house through open-air cinema projections on the theme of “Women Filmmakers in American Cinema”, exhibitions of photography and contemporary art, as well as Living art performances.
In the plate, the best of the American food scene is permanently installed. Orchestrated by Bonomy, the restaurant welcomes a succession of chefs who will come to illustrate in the kitchen their vision of the US fusion food. Pastrami sandwiches, hot dogs and cod fish cakes! As for drinks, the Bonomy team is also in the home’s speakeasy and swings a selection of American-style cocktails from Prohibition like Manhattan and other unreleased creations.
Music, movies, exhibitions, food, drinks, there are all the ingredients for a funky summer as we like them. So US, so good!
