at La Hune
Entitled Paris-New York, the exhibition invites visitors to travel through time and space. In black and white, Elliott Erwitt takes you between his two fetish cities, and makes you rediscover Paris in the mid 60s and 80s, from the 100th anniversary of the Eiffel Tower to the pedestrian portrait of a passerby and his dog, in parallel to New York’s fifties and movie stars such as Marilyn Monroe or Grace Kelly.
This exhibition, presented until the end of April, inaugurates the new collaboration between the prestigious photography agency Magnum and the La Hune bookshop in Saint-Germain des Prés, due to the closing of the former Magnum gallery located close to the bookshop.
“Making people laugh is one of the most successful things we can hope for,” he said. His images immerse us in his satirical vision of the world. To watch over and over again.
