New Hotel Le Voltaire : un boutique hôtel design

By Sandra Serpero

Located in the vibrant 11th arrondissement, the former Candide of the New Hotel group orchestrated by the Antoun family, has undergone a makeover and changed its name. Welcome to Le Voltaire, a charming and design living space designed by the group’s founder’s two daughters, Camille and Caroline Antoun in collaboration with Parisian craftsmen and designers. Take a visit!
With its elegant emerald green front, Le Voltaire immediately sets the tone. The lobby has a mineral and designer atmosphere with its terrazzo floor, period stones on the walls and chiné furniture such as the iconic DS-600 sofa by the publisher De Sede. Raised on 6 floors and with 47 rooms, Le Voltaire skillfully combines the comfort of a starred hotel with the lifestyle of a house. Proof of this is the beautiful cuisine, a breakfast area that can be enjoyed here from 7am to 12pm (we love this) with its central kitchen island dressed in old-fashioned tiles that welcomes beautifully selected foods: salty and sweet, fresh juices, hot drinks… And the pleasure of a small green terrace to enjoy a bowl of air with its morning coffee. On each floor, colour invites itself in each room, marsala red, curry yellow, glacier blue or veronese green. The details are meticulous, a raw parquet floor runs on the floor, the bathrooms play the graphic card and the whole thing asserts itself in a very Parisian charm. Urban to the core, without frills but with a considerate service, Le Voltaire is an ideal location between Republique, Oberkampf and Bastille and the rate of the rooms begin at 120 €. Verdict: a ‘pied-à-terre’ choice for travellers.
