Free hand to Odile Decq at the Paul Bert Serpette market, Saint-Ouen.

The architect-designer Odile Decq, designer of the year at Maison & Objet 2013, presents a selection of a hundred pieces

of furniture, objects, works of art, incongruous pieces and vintage clothing from antique shops.

This results in the creation for the exposure of a habitat, a multifunctioned living room of 35 m2 where very beautiful pieces of design from the 60s to the 80s, signed by Pierre Paulin, Knoll, Joe Colombo, Gilles Derain etc., will compose a particular universe alongside a Flemish painting from the eighteenth century and lithographs by Frutrunk Gunter, a stuffed crow, a boat propeller. Exhibition «Matières premières» at Merci, Paris

«Matières premières» at Merci, Paris.

Never in the history of design, have designers had such a wide and varied range of materials at their disposal.

This is the creative peak of interior design, but also of fashion, architecture, publishing, and press. In contrast, textures, irregularities, and rough appearances are becoming more and more attractive. Design is conceived

by the eye, but also by the hand and touch. The material itself replaces the color, the texture is itself a form of graphics which is sufficient in itself, it expresses the strength of the project with its own personality and the perception of it. The exhibition presents the symbolic objects of this movement in the categories traditionally represented at merci, expressed in the most varied materials.

Exhibition «Klubben-On Time, 17 objets inédits de Norvège» at Pecha Kucha, Paris

«Klubben-On Time, 17 objets inédits de Norvège» at Pecha Kucha, Paris.

Klubben is an initiative recently launched for Norwegian designers in the industry.

Today, the association has 25 members, with different experiences in the design of furniture and objects. With “On Time”, we are invited to view an exhibition

about time, situations and objects. Each designer is allocated a moment, a given time, that must be interpreted by the implementation of an object. These times of the day or night punctuate 24 hours. The 17 never-before-seen objects presented on this occasion were inspired by these suggestions.
