The Castle of Chantilly and its park created by André Lenôtre
The domain of Chantilly spreads out on 7800 hectars in the middle of the forest of Chantilly and is composed of the garden “à la française” created in 17th century by André Lenôtre for the Prince of Condé. Water fountains 5 meters high, a multitude of water places, an anglo-chinese garden,a little forest , sculptures and floors ” à la française” surroundind the castle in a very different way than the old gardens with a centre axe which does not go through the castle. Lenôtre transforms the place and uses numerous natural sources and the differents ground levels to create water places and gardens. Th domain is also composed of Le Potager des Princes, les Grandes Ecurie, the Musée Vivant du Cheval, the Maison de Sylvie, the Château d’Enghien, the Pavillon de Manse or the moulin de Princes that owns the hydrolic machine of Pinces of Condé.
