London: the chic and cosy Hoxton hotel!
Having opened in September, this hotel is the latest ‘nugget’ that we have unearthed in London. Ideally located just a two-minute walk from Holborn station, 5 minutes from the British Museum, and near shopping havens Oxford Street and Regent Street, it boasts a super contemporary design, with hints of the 1950s! On the ground floor, the vast lobby is filled with deep sofas and brick walls, which also give character to the reading room: this spot offers various newspapers, as well as the perfect meeting place or after work drink. Slightly more hidden are the bar and restaurant, the latter of which sports a slightly industrial look and serves classic food: fish and chips, burgers, prawn cocktail…delicious and inexpensive: a winner in London! Special mention goes to the detox juice. Finally, a superb nail bar stretches the rest of the space…the 174 bedrooms are divided into several categories, from the ‘Shoebox’ (12m2) to the most spacious ‘Roomy’ rooms, at around 40m2. And the décor has been well thought through, particularly the hideaway study and the bathrooms with its black and white tiles. Other highlights: the hotel offers an hour of free phone calls within the United Kingdom, but also to the United States and several European countries, plus it has its own bicycle rent shop.
