Queen Mary II : renovations
The Cunard company, which celebrated its 175 years in 2015, is celebrating 2016 with a major renovation of the Queen Mary 2, its flagship. Designed as a true transatlantic liner, tapered and majestic, it can navigate the seas in all weathers. The new facilities were inaugurated on June 2st1 after a dry docking of 25 days. This major renovation focuses on indoor public spaces, the creation of new places, particularly in catering, and in thirty new cabins, spacious enjoying a wide balcony. Art and culture live together on this ship with the Planetarium, the bookstore and the largest library on the sea. Gastronomy has an important role, with a choice of refined menus and many options for gourmet meetings. In the tradition of great liners of yesteryear, every stateroom categorie is a restaurant overlooking the sea. Since its inception, Cunard has always been at the forefront of innovation : from the launch of a regular transatlantic line between Europe and America to the first light bulbs or bathrooms looking like floating palaces that were Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth.
