«Wendell Castle, sculpteur de mobilier» at the Carpenters Workshop Gallery, Paris.

With very little exposure in France, this American artist has created hybrid compositions that resemble, in essence, nothing.
Consisting of an assembly of large blocks whose construction varies in every different space, their function is disguised before they can be identified as a seat, a bench, or a table. Black or white,
polished so that they seem lacquered, simple, monolithic, and very rounded, the furniture of Wendell Castle has a primitive side whilst being a great technical triumph. An emblematic figure of the American Arts & Crafts movement of the postwar period, this exhibition presents his recent works.
