"Musicircus" at the Centre Pompidou, Metz.
Continuing the Phares journey, the exhibition showcases forty major works from the collection of the Centre Pompidou.
It questions the practice of famous artists, amateur musicians (Wassily Kandinsky played the violin) and music lovers (Sol LeWitt had hundreds of records in his collection), whose work was influenced by the music. The project highlights the primacy of rhythm concepts in abstraction’s birth as well as correspondence between visual and musical writings, at the dawn of minimalism.
