« Paradiso Lussemburgo by Filip Markiewicz » at the Ca’del Duca, Venice.
Plasterer, performer, filmmaker and musician: the creations of Filip Markiewicz mix different genres and mediums that reveal the violence of real life in politics and moral.
As part of the Venice Biennale at the Ca’ del Duca, he presents the equivalent of a documentary “portrait”, which is critical and sentimental towards his motherland: Luxembourg. The work takes the form of a vast theatre that acts as a museum, invention lab and place of cultural entertainment. “Paradiso Lussemburgo” focuses upon Luxembourg in a European and global context, such as national samples that mix numerous nationalities and cultures that comprise the identity of this country.
