"American Moments" at the Phillips Collection, Washington DC.
Across more than 130 photographs taken from permanent collections, the Phillips Collection presents a portrait of America.
More than thirty well-known artists are on show, including Burce Davidson, Louis Faurer and even Arnold Newman. The exhibition highlights the force and variety of points of view through this selection of superb images dating back to the middle of the 20th century. Recent donations also allow visitors to discover the place that the city holds in the representation of America. The abstraction of buildings and modernist compositions prove the ever increasing importance of industry in the daily life of Americans.
Until 13th September. B.D. www.phillipscollection.org
