28 Chinese at the Asian art museum in San Francisco.
Liu wei, ll Xiangyu Xu Zhen, Zhang Hyan, Ai Weiwei… 28 Chinese artists are honoured in this exhibition. What they have in common?
They have all had a significant impact in the art world and in helping define modern art. With almost 50 pieces of work between them, the exhibition offers a panoramic view of contemporary Chinese creations and an insight into its evolution thanks to the work of Don and Mera Rubell. In the space of 10 years, they visited the work places of artists in china and acquired pieces from undiscovered artists. Their collection expresses the diversity of mediums, from painting to installation and photography, expressions and provides inspiration for other artists. B.D.
