"Setting up a wall, four centuries of wallpapers" at the Museum of Decorative Arts, Paris
The exhibition reveals the outstanding archives of the wallpapers department by giving public three hundred emblematic pieces of the collection which now has over 400,000 in reserve.
It juxtaposes and compares productions from different origins and periods to illustrate a wide range of styles and skills in use from the eighteenth century to nowadays. The whole presentation thus highlights the major role of the wallpaper in the history of decorative arts, while emphasizing the strengths of this collection that is the largest preserved in the world.
