« Sepik, arts from Papua New Guinea" at the Quai Branly Museum, Paris.
First exhibition in France devoted to the arts of the people of the Sepik River, in Papua New Guinea, the exhibition brings together 230 works from the museum's collections and those of 28 European museums.
Sculptures, hooks, pearl oyster shell necklaces, slit drums, bamboo flutes, straw headdresses, painted panels…objects are adorned with pictures or signs related to nature and human or animal ancestral figures.
