« Gustave Caillebotte: The Painter’s Eve » at the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC.
Across fifty major masterpieces, the National Gallery of Art pays homage to impressionist painter Gustave Caillebotte in the first exhibition of such calibre dedicated to him in the United States.
“Caillebotte’s paintings are difficult to find in public institutions. We are delighted to be able to take up the chance to present his emblematic work as part of this exceptional retrospective”, declares Earl A. Powell III, director of the National Galley of Art. After Washington, the exhibition will be moved to Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas.
