A beautiful escape to Geneva at Hotel D
Geneva is the second most populated city in Switzerland after Zurich and is one of the most charismatic locations. The family group Diana Hôtels Collection, which is already well-established in the country and at the head of a small empire with 12 establishments, has recently opened an elegant 4-star boutique hotel: the D. 3 hours and 8 minutes from Paris by TGV, a change of air and décor. We spent a week-end there and loved it!
Located in the heart of the vibrant and popular Pâquis district, within the walls of a historic building, this new hotel offers 57 rooms and suites. Decorated by the architect Sybille de Margerie, the rooms have been designed in a contemporary style, are decorated in bright colours, and offer high-quality bedding and modern technology. Some embrace the rooftops of Geneva, others offer a delightful view of the vastness of Lake Geneva or affirm their urban side by opening up to the life of this cosmopolitan district full of bars and restaurants. A gold star goes to the breakfast room with its modern and graphic lines: beautiful lighting, dreamy tapestry, dark wood furniture, light parquet flooring and windows with thick curtains. All this creates a soothing atmosphere, like a cocoon of tranquility set in the middle of the city’s turmoil. The bonus: a few steps from Cornavin station and Lake Geneva, the geographical location of this charming hotel is ideal for discovering Geneva by foot, its lively city centre, its historic old town, its buildings and its beautiful green spaces. A real good address.
