The world of…Thierry Teyssier

Thierry Teyssier

Béatrice Delamotte

It is difficult to control the flow of words from Thierry Teyssier…A born storyteller, he envelops you in his stories, his tales, and his dreams. Dreams that he puts into practice both in his hotels, in Morocco, Portugal, and soon in Brazil, and in his pastries. And always with flair.

A man who has dedicated his life to customer services (he created the events management agency Lever de Rideau twenty years ago which he continues to run), Thierry Teyssier has above all succeeded in preserving the child in him. Curious, attentive and thoughtful, he made his passion his career: to sell the dream of dreams. In his hotels, his “Maisons des rêves”, he strives to make trips an enchanting experience, with only a few rooms in each of his establishments (Dar Ahlam in Morocco and Romaneira in Portugal), luxurious standards in both the level of service and food, and especially in the surprises. Why always have your meals in the same place when it is possible to organize a typical Berber lunch by a river or have a snack with views over the Douro Valley?

And the same goes for his “Pâtisseries des Rêves”. Created in collaboration with the pastry chef Philippe Conticini, they distil the taste of nostalgia. Here, one certainly (re)discovers the classics pastry, but also some new findings, especially in terms of confectionery. Such as the barley sugar flavored “Mummy’s Lipstick” or the “Christmas” flavored nougats – aromas that both delight adults and captivate the young. And if all that was not enough, he is currently directing several projects alongside: a new hotel in Brazil, a tour to discover the artisanal riches of Morocco, the opening of two bakeries in Japan… Lots of stories to tell not to mention a new business in consulting dreams, most notably for Voyageurs du Monde..
