  • Maldives: the Finohlu villas

Located on the island of Gasfinohlu, 40 minutes away from the airport, this new Club Med flagship offers 52 villas. 30 of them are built on stilts above the turquoise lagoon. Each of them offers an important surface: from 151 m2 to 168 m2 and many assets to seduce lovers of idleness! They have a swimming pool of a serious size and the decoration made by the Japanese architect Yuji and French designer Meriem Hall, displays ocean blue, green and orange on the cushions and resting beds for a shot of pep’s against the wood, beige and taupe hues. We love the huge bay windows that open onto the pool, the terrace and the lagoon. The icing on the cocktail: a butler watches over happy guests. Even if you can spend your time in the villa from breakfast to dinner, you should not forget the charms of the place. The pool and its bar are the place to be and the champagne is served there from 6 PM… At the restaurant Motu, the chefs have elaborated a menu that skillfully mixes European and Asian specialties sprinkled with a zest of Maldivian influence. Not to forget an important panel of aquatic sports …

  • Marrakech: Raspoutine is the place to be!

We no longer stop Laurent de Gourcuff and Benjamin Cassan, the two Parisian party animals. After having taken over, the Raspoutine Paris, of which they have intelligently kept the soul and the very special atmosphere, they decided to make the Raspoutine travel. They have, after Rome in spring 2016, opened Marrakech last December in the district of Hivernage. The decoration highlights the traditional codes of the Russian parisian house: a royal and warm residence, with alcoves of red velvet, walls of fabrics, majestic chandeliers not to mention furniture covered with wolf skins. At the head of the now “place to be” in the red city, we can find the most Parisian of the Moroccans: Youssef Gourad.

  • Saint-Tropez: happy anniversary to the Byblos

The mythical palace with a Provence village look, is celebrating its 50 years! With its night club the caves du Roy, an exact replica of the eponymous nightclub of the Excelsior in Beirut, it symbolizes the atmosphere of the small port of Var. Shops, bars, lush patios, fountains, lounges, life is organized around a square carpeted with cobblestones and in the shade of a hundred-year-old olive tree, imported from Lebanon. To celebrate this anniversary with dignity, the Chevanne family, owner of the place has invented a new generation of rooms even bigger and more glamorous. They offer a contemporary decoration and are accompanied by the latest technologies. As for the Caves du Roy, they offer the craziest nights of 2017 with their new interior architecture designed by François Frossard.

  • The Panoramic Mer de Glace

We can not stop the Sibuet family in such good way: after the inauguration last year of the Terminal Neige Totem in Flaine, that of Villa Marie in Saint Barth in December, we are also celebrating the opening of a superb restaurant : The Panoramic Mer de Glace. The latter, perched on the mythical site of the Montenvers, offers an incredible view on the Sea of ice and the Druses. It is reached by ski or from Chamonix, with the famous red cogwheel train of the Montenvers, a walk that is worth the shot. In a setting that, in spite of its modernity, has lost nothing of its authenticity, one feeds on traditional regional cuisine: savoyarde pot, Grand-Mère chicken cocotte or coquillettes with Beaufort. Magnificent: “Mer de Glace”, a homemade velvety vacherin, the traditional Mont Blanc with chestnut cream, or the double cream meringue, a delight! And as of next June, the Terminal Neige- Refuge du Montenvers hotel will open on this same site. A. F.-M.
