The beauty of gesture.
For 130 years, the Moissonnier house has been carrying on outstanding expertise in cabinet making either for private individuals or historical monuments. Without being limited to the pure and simple tradition. A journey between emotion, inspiration, dreams and requirement.

Forrest territory, filled with of oak wood, ash and elm burl wood, fruit wood,

it is naturally in Bourg-en-Bresse that Emile Moissonnier settled down his studio in 1885. Talented sculptor and painter, he is himself the figure of the creative architect, who designs each of his furniture as unique. Becoming a factory under the guidance of his two sons, the Moissonnier house quickly sees its expertise turning into worldwide famous. But that’s with the third generation embodied by Jean-Loup Moissonnier, fashion photographer and also painter, that the house took off.

Vintage addicted, lover of antique furniture, he guides Moissonnier into the reproduction of classics pieces from the European repertoire.

Models chosen with the heart in sales rooms or flea markets and that he transforms, with the complicity of his wife, contemporary furniture stylist. Modern colors dress up precise wood cuts without ever being too kitsch. The couple invents a concept, “the patina of this time,” that now characterizes the creations of the house. A sum of excellence that combines skill and instinct in the creation of « gems” for the house, which is working on paradox, form rather than substance, with an insolence strand.

Over the years, Moissonnier has preserved its expertise and has enriched it to become an international reference in contemporary woodworking.

Distinguished by the label “Living Heritage Company” in 2010, the brand is since then launching every year ephemeral thematic collections while continuing to meet the demands of the largest French and international designers. The catalog, which now has 160 references, is an ultimate soft map of the furniture and its diversity. Playing on the natural beauty of wood, the colors of an infinite range of lacquers, on the effects of materials sometimes surprising or on painted patterns, Moissonnier explores new worlds. Thus, the 2016 collection plunges into the heart of wild and exotic atmosphere with the collection “Into the Wild.” Louis XV bridge harmchair and commode are dressing up with panther pattern, while a Louis XV chest buffet is adorned with an exuberant painted jungle.
