CHRISTMAS SHOPPING WINDOWS

Evane Haziza-Bonnamour

For Christmas, department stores and shops compete for creativity and inventiveness to present their gifts and imagine fancy sets, ranging from ephemeral works to theatrical installations carefully orchestrated. Let the magic and fantasy trip happen with a selection of international shopping windows and tips on what to buy this season. Merry Christmas to all!

  • De Bijenkorf In Amsterdam

An imaginary and fairy world with a mysterious forest, treasures hidden in the trunks of trees in the middle of poetic clouds. Enough to satisfy and charm kids as much as parents.

  • Liberty in London

Major tradition of the English Christmas time, the crackers are bursting inside the windows of Liberty in a XXL version. The bursting, crystallized  into the shape of giant stars is presenting a selection of presents for kids and adults.

  • Ogilvy Montreal

A dreamlike atmosphere made from cut reproductions of encyclopedic books images, enlarged, put together to create a fairytale of modern times.

  • Harrods in London

For the Christmas celebrations, the department store unveils “The Harrods Express”, a train leaving for the land of Christmas presents! Each car is decorated and presents the latest ready-to-wear, accessories and beauty collections in comical, funny and festive situations.

  • NK in Stockholm

Among the books, like in a beautiful children library, little scenes tell the story of the dragon lighting the stove fire or the beaver cutting down trees but really unveils the magic of Christmas.

  • TIFFANY in NYC

The snow has fallen down. A dollhouse is sparkling in the middle of the night. It is revealing the Tiffany’s jewels across the subdued light of the windows. A sweet and romantic atmosphere worth the most beautiful fairy tales.

  • Selfridges in Londres

Headphones in the middle of the snowy mountains, a slipper as a ski run…a poetic way to present and highlight the season’s wish list, inspired by the tale of Gulliver.

  • GALERIES LAFAYETTE in PARIS

The tale of the Beauty and the Beast in five scenes of the film is re-interpreted inside the windows on the Boulevard Haussmann. At the forefront of innovation, one of the windows is interactive and allows passers-by to play around with the decor.

  • MULBERRY @ HARRODS in LONDON

Designed by Shona Heath, the Mulberry shopping windows present its accessories in an imaginary forest from the English countryside, inspired by the roots of the house.

  • John Lewis London

Imaginative, the shopping windows at John Lewis present animals made from a blend of household daily products and tools.

  • Moncler Amsterdam

Trip into the space for the mannequins at Moncler. Installed in fur eggs, they are floating in the galaxy.
