Gastronomy

We have no doubt that gastronomy, as an essential emblem of the French style of living, holds an important place at Sofitel. If you need any reminding of this, just taking a quick look at the Sofitel Paris le Faubourg, the latest addition to the chain, which opened in March 2015, following a total refurbishment by Didier Gomez. It is here that triple-starred chef Yanneck Alléno chose to set up his restaurant STAY, where many enjoy his large although slightly softer style kitchen, including the subtle addition of the famous patisserie library where all the celebrities play…At the Sofitel Le Grand Amsterdam, decorated by Sybille de Margerie, you come across another revered chef: Joris Bijdendijk at Bridges restaurant. This former contestant on France’s Top Chef 2013 clinched his Michelin star in 2014. In Marrakech, whose Orangerie restaurant boasts a superb shaded terrace that overlooks the hotel gardens, the French and Moroccan chefs combine their talents in order to offer the best of both gastronomic cultures. At the Sofitel Saint James in London (one of our favourites) designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon, its Brasserie and Balcon restaurants delight all with its authentic French products at the charcuterie bar, after a drink at the St James bar, whose décor takes inspiration from Coco Chanel’s apartment in the 1920s! At the Sofitel Vienna, an original glass tower designed by Jean Nouvel, the Das Loft restaurant is a genuine belvedere that dominates the Viennese skyline and whose large 10m-high bay windows offer an impressive view over St Etienne’s cathedral, the Prater and the Giant Ferris Wheel. Here, chef Fabian Günzel favours an eclectic cuisine, mixing Asian, European and middle-eastern inspirations. Lunch itself is worth the trip at the Sofitel Hambourg! In Dubai, Sofitel Downtown boasts trifling total of 8 restaurants and bars! We simply don’t know where to lay our forks. Foodies will love Les Cuisines: with its different international buffets and numerous special delicacies: cheese, bread, sushi pizza…essentially offering a trip around the world everyday! And check out the children’s own kid-size buffet. And let’s not forget the Thai restaurant, with its view over the city and Red Grill, a steakhouse perfect for lovers of high-quality meat!
