Calder was one of the most innovative artists of the twentieth century and played a key role in the development of modern art.

The exhibition, the largest ever devoted to Alexander Calder in the UK, looks over a hundred works that highlight the process by which Calder moved from static object sculpture to the experimentation of real time and perpetual motion. From wire portraits of contemporary artists from the 1930s to iron abstract and kinetic forms, Performing Sculpture makes us discover the artistic development of Calder.
