"Tapestry? From Picasso to Messager" at the Jean-Lurçat Museum, Angers.

Picasso La danse © Musée d'Art Moderne Roger-Viollet © Succession Picasso

Around thirty original works, taken from the rich collections of the Museum of Modern Art in Paris,

the National Contemporary Art Foundation and museums around Angers, allow visitors to discover the works of often unknown tapestry-makers, such as Picasso, Braque, Sonia Delaunay, Louis Bourgeois and Annette Messager. From experimental pieces woven in the 1930s to the latest creations of the last decade, these works relay the relations between weavers and creator, but also the tapestry-designer’s skill and finally supple expression across supports and extremely diverse techniques. Until 31st October. B.D. www.villeangers.fr
