"Paul Strand: Photography and Film for the 20th Century"
at the Victorial & Albert Museum, London.
For this first retrospective devoted to the American photographer in the UK, the V & A traces the career of over sixty years of Paul Strand. From his abstract photography experiments and what is considered the first avant-garde film, to his travels around the world beginning in New York in 1910 until France in 1976, the year of his death, this is the entire range of talent of Paul Strand which speaks here. We also discover a series of photographs taken in the UK, a study of the island of South Uist in the Western Isles of Scotland, completed in 1954 and recently acquired by the museum.
Until the 3rd of July. www.vam.ac.uk
