Hermès, A stroll on the banks of the seine

Hermès, A stroll on the banks of the seine

By Cécile Sepulchre

According to those who have everything time remains the ultimate luxury. Time to stroll, time to wander and time to waste this precious time itself is an element so fought over in modern life. With this in mind, Hermès thus invites parisians on a chic stroll. Forget the traffic jams around La Concorde, turn your back on idle debates at l’assemblée Nationale and instead head down to the docks to uncover another time and space. “Its a gift we are offering to parisians” explains Pierre-Alexis Dumas, artisitic director of the brand. The gestures perfect elegance. In this magical box of a thousand treasures, the “flâneur” (or wanderer) meanders through 11 rooms, created by artist Hubert Le Gall. The poetic maze includes interactive installations designed by various artists such as a video of a puddle reflecting (in a rather indiscreet way) the sky and naked legs of passers-by, a café of forgotton objects and even an elephant trapped in a porcelain shop…with just as many fantasy images to transport visitors to a dreamland.
